Coronet Ridge

Coronet Ridge Resort is a 5 star alpine retreat positioned as ‘where luxury meets nature’s embrace’.  That embrace comes through the deeply relaxing aesthetics created by dark joinery, with highlights of lighter wood used for contrast and added energy.

Coronet Ridge Resort is a 41 room boutique hotel perched above the Shotover River, against the backdrop of Queenstown’s alpine scenery.  A $30 million redevelopment repositioned the resort amongst the areas finest, resplendent with a new fine-dining restaurant, Roman-style day spa, private cinema, and multiple smaller spaces that exude luxury and quality.

The resort has an incredible ambience of luxury, the quality powerfully conveyed through the exquisitely designed interior and the extensive use of warming, rich wood. This is a resort where the little touches create the desired opulence.  There’s no grand aesthetic gesture, but rather a series of refined visual moments that build a completely enveloping feeling of luxuriousness.

Aiding those visual moments is a comprehensive collection of expert joinery from ourselves.  It begins with a bookshelf by the entry.  Then throughout the rest of the resort are examples of our craftsmanship; tables, planters, and banquette seating.  The joinery makes use of the natural grandeur of darker wood, which contrasts with lighter wood that’s used to add dashes of energy against the overall feeling of relaxation.

Arguably the standout feature is the upholstered wall paneling.  It cushions the visuals, compelling guests inside to a seating area.  This is the type of design statement that imbues satisfaction and nudges the overall experience to a place few resorts can reach.

It’s the same with the wine and bar cabinetry.  The design intent was not to create a functional feature that’s needed, but a functionally beautiful feature that reassures guests that Coronet Ridge is a wise choice, for travellers who appreciate the finer things.  This is the clever trick Coronet Ridge pulls off with aplomb.  The whole resort becomes greater than the sum of its quite wonderful parts, creating a space that is entirely its own and hard to compete with.

Importantly, in a location known for luxury, Coronet Ridge rises and stands out from the crowd.
